Senior Finance Officer

The responsibilities of a Senior Finance Officer include supervising the daily operations of the finance department, updating financial records, and managing invoices. To be successful as a Senior Finance Officer, you should have strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, good organizational skills, and working knowledge of accounting software. 
The Senior Finance Officer is accountable for the following:
  • Responsible for the timely financial reporting, planning, and forecasting for the Curacao Operations.
  • Work in close liaison with the Dutch Caribbean Finance Department.
  • Prepare and present monthly Claims- and Premium Revenue results.
  • Present Gross Written Premiums per distribution channel to the Finance Manager and Managing Director.
  • Prepare year-end Annual Statement Central Bank.
  • Prepare monthly and year-end figures to present to the Finance Manager and Managing Director
  • Coordinate and assist with the month-end closing of the financial administration.
  • Supervise and oversee the fieldwork and daily operations of the finance department such as bank transfers creditors and claims invoice payments, broker commission, bank statement entries, and manual entry adjustment.
  • Oversee and coordinate the year-end external and internal audits
  • Prepare monthly tax filings
  • Ensure that financial targets are achieved.
Other qualities and experience required include:
  • A proven track record of rigorous financial control and large scale reconciliations
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance with experenience in Finance Insurance industry
  • Experience using ANVA and M-Files as software tools. 
  • A high degree of commercial acumen with a passion for achieving continuous performance improvement. 
  • Excellent and proven strategic planning, forecasting, analytical and critical reasoning, budgeting, business execution, and fiscal management skills
  • An engaging and influential leadership style with the ability to develop people and achieve excellent results.
  • A high degree of IT literacy
  • A flexible and energetic approach that inspires other team members
  • Sound understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards 
  • Fluency in Dutch and English
